Minister Namal Rajapaksa emphasizes that if the rumor that coconut oil containing carcinogens has been released to the market is a lie, then an investigation should be carried out into the forces behind it.

“The government is conducting an investigation and should reveal to the society the truth behind this matter.

If it is a lie then who is behind the socialization of such lies, or is there any other force going against this coconut oil? Because we know that even foreign companies have taken steps to stop such local production in each of these countries. So at a time when we are trying to strengthen local production today, we need to find out whether such a force is active within this.

Therefore, our policies as a government are clear. The President, the Prime Minister and the Minister in charge of the subject not only explained this to the people, but also if it is a lie, the reason for spreading that lie should be thoroughly investigated, ”he said.

Minister Namal Rajapaksa stated this while answering several questions raised by journalists in Colombo yesterday (02).
