A nurse in Madhya Pradesh, India has survived Covid-19 after successfully battling the disease despite having only one lung and recovered in 14 days.
The 39-year-old nurse, who was undergoing treatment at the Tikamgarh Civil Hospital, in Madhya Pradesh had lost one of the lungs in her childhood.
After an accident in her childhood, she was operated upon and her lung was removed. However, she came to know of the condition only in 2014 when she underwent a chest X-ray.
The nurse, Prafullit Peter, was posted in the Covid ward at the Tikamgarh hospital when she caught the infection. After testing positive for Covid, many were worried that the battle would be particularly hard for her.
However, staying in home isolation for 14 days, the nurse recovered from Covid-19.
After the recovery, Peter said that she did not lose courage while staying in home isolation and would regularly do yoga, pranayama, breathing exercises and also inflated balloons to help her lung.
The nurse had also received both doses of the Covid vaccine and was confident that she would survive the disease.
